From 0 to 1, the systematic reduction of our society into a binary system takes on all its meaning. From the navel to the eye, space is both limited and excessive. When the book opens, it is to show the expanse and complexity of our daily environments. Fear, emptiness, blackness, words, lack of words, probing glances. Pernicious effects of our lifestyles and thoughts, the security paranoia brings us back to these individual spaces.
It alarms rather than reassures, locks up rather than protects. From the eye to the navel and from the body to the object, from me to ĞIğ and from the other to us, the distance which separates us from the world sets in.
